Job Description Accounting Internship Summary: CSX is a Fortune 500 company seeking future business leaders to help foster growth, efficiency and innovation. Interns within the Accounting Department will be placed onto either the Billing or the Accounting & Reporting teams for a 10-week immersion into CSX methods and culture. Individuals will complete challenging real-world assignments, working hand in hand with leaders across the company to improve decision-making and financial performance. The accounting internship provides an opportunity for candidates to experience what a role in accounting & reporting or billing, looks like, while allowing CSX to actively recruit tomorrow's best talent.
Internship Details: - This is a 10 Week Summer Internship Program starting on May 26, 2026 and ending July 31, 2026 .

CSX provides optional intern housing for the duration of the 10-week program, as long as the selected intern meets eligibility criteria. Primary Activities and Responsibilities: • Participate in and learn core areas of the accounting organization
• Contribute to special projects that support field employees, technology initiatives, customer relationships, financial and liquidity objectives, as well as reporting and compliance
• Engage in process improvement projects designed to improve best practices
• Conduct accounting research and summarize results
• Communicate analyses through presentations to senior management in the department
• Complete cross functional projects and miscellaneous activities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications: • Must be at least 18 years of age
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale)
Preferred Qualifications: • Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
Knowledge and Skills: • Academic distinction with accounting or finance interest/talent
• Proven leadership ability and initiative
• Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a senior level audience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
Job Requirements: • Work inside an office environment
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences
• Work within established deadlines
• Successfully complete a background check and drug test
