Animal Technician - Carlsbad 4 month contract to hire Schedule Monday - Friday OR Tuesday - Saturday; 4a, 5a, and 6a start times available. What you'll do: Perform cage changing, providing clean bedding and materials for animals housed in the vivarium. Autoclaving of biowaste for disposal. Assist in maintaining vivarium supply inventories - stocking and ordering. Routine weekend and holiday work required. Other duties may be assigned in addition to those listed above. Who you are: Experience handling large animals (30+ lbs), such as pigs, horses, sheep, etc. Must have a general understanding of animal welfare regulations and of the importance of ethical use of animals in research. Must be able to lift 50lbs. What does this position pay? Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is $18 - $24 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
