A K-12 educational institution in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students requiring communication assistance. This contract position spans the full academic school year and plays a pivotal role in facilitating effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their instructors, peers, and school staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate, and professional sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and school events.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and special education staff to ensure accessible communication and support student learning.
• Assist with communication during meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related gatherings.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to a variety of subjects and student needs, promoting an inclusive educational environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with verified certification or equivalent credentials.
