Job Description

Annual Giving Campaign Manager

Primary Functions:

Provide leadership for the planning and implementation of the Boys & Girls Club's annual giving campaigns and special events to ensure each activity meets established revenue goals. Recruit, cultivate, and conduct face-to-face solicitations of donors in support of one or more of the Club's annual campaigns or special events. Provide support to Board Members and committee volunteers to facilitate their success raising money for the Boys & Girls Club. Evaluate each campaign and event to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction for the planning and implementation of all annual giving campaigns and special events to support the operations of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Yellowstone County.
  • Coordinate annual campaign and special event activities, messaging, and materials to ensure consistency with the Boys & Girls Club's strategic plan.
  • Recruit, cultivate, and steward individual annual campaign and special event donors to generate revenue to meet the Club's established targets for each activity.
  • Recruit, cultivate, and steward corporate donors to sponsor otherwise underwrite annual campaign and special event expenses through donated in-kind services.
  • Assist with the development, implementation and monitoring of all campaign and special event budgets to control expenditures against budget expectations.
  • Ensure effective campaign and special event implementation and administration, making sure all related planning, logistics and support activities are carried out as scheduled.
  • Negotiate with vendors and sponsors to obtain space, refreshments/catering, audio-visual needs, event journals and all related materials and resources that ensure event success.
  • Evaluate the success of all campaigns and special events, as determined by established measures such as participation, revenue generated, public relations activity, enrollment in Club programs, etc.
  • Provide support and assistance to ensure the timely and accurate recording of all special event contributions that may include cash and in-kind contributions.
  • Coordinate with Club staff and vendors to create all campaign and event promotional materials to ensure they align with the Club's established messaging and that they increase the visibility and impact of all annual campaigns and special events.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, vendors, consultants, and service providers to improve the success and impact all annual campaigns and special events.

Relationships:

Internal

  • Establish and maintain close verbal and written contact with the Club's executive leaders, Board Members, and community volunteers to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation, and direction.
  • Maintains contact with financial staff and support staff.

External

  • Establish and maintain contact with community and corporate leaders, media contacts, and parents to encourage participation in scheduled special events and provide information regarding Club activities and needs.

Skills/Knowledge Preferred:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. A minimum of five years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or other not-for-profit organization with an emphasis on special events planning and implementation, marketing, and project management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of general bookkeeping principles to track expenses and revenues.

This employee will typically work in an office setting with overhead lighting and needs to have the following specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally be asked to drive a vehicle or travel to meetings or events relevant to their normal duties or another type of organizational activity or event they are asked to support. As part of their donor engagement and fundraising responsibilities, the employee may be required to work some evenings and weekends depending on the timing of events and job responsibilities.

Salary: 48k-51k annually
