Clinician (Emergency Homeless Shelter)

Family Service Association of Bucks County
Levittown, PA | Full-Time | $50,000–$72,000 annually (based on licensure and professional experience)

• Complete intake assessments for all shelter guests (clients).

• Develop individualized treatment plans with clients to address goals during and after their shelter stay.

• Provide counseling and therapeutic support, recognizing the trauma associated with homelessness.

• Partner with the Street Medicine Team to provide mental health services to unsheltered clients as needed.

• Spend time in shared shelter spaces to observe, assess, and build rapport with guests.

• Document assessments, sessions, and outcomes accurately in the Credible electronic health record system.

• Track and report outcome measures for program evaluation and quality improvement.

• Provide follow-up services after client discharge to ensure continuity of mental health care.

• Collaborate with shelter staff and community partners to support clients’ mental wellness and housing stability.

• Apply trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches in all client interactions.

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related human services/health field.
• Licensed or unlicensed clinicians welcome ( LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC ).
• Completion of a counseling internship, preferably serving clients with similar needs or characteristics to the shelter population.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and harm reduction principles.
• Experience or comfort working with individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, or co-occurring mental health challenges.
• Ability to conduct mental health screenings, collect data, and report outcomes.
• Comfortable providing counseling to individuals, families, and groups of all ages.
• Skilled in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic health records (Credible preferred).
