TechConnect is seeking a Senior Level – Data Engineer for an industry leading client based in Tulsa, OK. This is a critical position for our client, and they need a data engineer that is well versed in enterprise level data warehousing, data warehousing principles and best practices, and overall data architecture to lead this initiative.

As the SDE you will be the day-to-day enterprise data warehouse technical leader, and SME. You will be an individual contributor must be able to provide technical leadership for the data warehouse team/users in a supportive way. Some of your responsibilities will include R&D, reviewing current processes, providing new ideas/approaches, and solutions to maximize efficiency and improvement. You will be part of the Data Governance Committee, manage projects, review user’s data request, decide on the best technical solutions to support the users, and more.

To be successful in this position you must be comfortable leading decisions and driving strategy in the data warehouse. You will work independently, with team members and all levels of personnel on multiple projects. You must be able to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture to support next gen products and data initiatives. You need to be a transformative leader, someone with a high level of initiative that will help move the needle forward.

Responsibilities (cont’d)

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements, and understand how to move large data volumes back and forth.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements. Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
• Build infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key metrics.
• Know how data warehousing works, understand how the different parts and pieces work together, and inherently understand how to bring everything together.
• Handle data feed requests, usually in multiple formats, and help coordinate standards.
• Understand the technical side of data warehousing, but also the business side to effectively work with both business units and technical/non-technical personnel. 20% of time spent working with the business to understand their needs, drive solutions, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Familiar with design patterns, look at what they are doing currently, build a plan, suggest and challenge with new ideas, implement best practices and procedures. 
• Machine readable files (JSON files). 

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing data pipelines and supporting data warehouses. 
• Enterprise level data warehousing experience that includes building and optimizing big data, data pipelines, architecture and data sets.
• Create process to support data transformation, data structure, metadata, dependency and workload management.
• Experience working with Azure, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, preparing analytical reports and developing data models.
• Project management and operational maintenance experience.
• Experience working with data bricks and AI integration is preferred. 
• Familiar with Oracle is a plus.
• College degree in a technical field preferred.

Work Situation

• ·Hybrid work situation (Tuesday – Thursday in Tulsa office, Monday and Friday remote/work from home).
