Job Title: Director of Rehabilitation Qualifications: Licensed as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist for the State of California. Valid CPR certification. Job Summary: The Director of Rehabilitation directs and coordinates policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for rehabilitation therapy services. Responsibilities include overseeing staff performance, business planning, and budget development, ensuring compliance with professional, clinical, and regulatory standards. The role requires leadership, creativity, and a focus on high performance, quality, and goal attainment. Key Responsibilities: Apply the facility's philosophy, principles, and technology. Demonstrate continuous personal development and improvement. Manage employees effectively and communicate clearly (verbal and written). Make independent decisions based on gathered information. Maintain a customer service-focused attitude. Communicate with physicians and professionals regarding patient treatment programs. Perform initial patient evaluations and monitor responses to treatment. Ensure compliance with regulatory statutes and rules. Educate patients, families, and staff as appropriate. Develop and manage the rehabilitation department, including workstation assessments. Provide in-service training to staff and new employees. Maintain progress notes and treatment plans. Supervise and mentor therapy staff. Develop positive relationships with physicians and internal/external customers. Lead analytical and administrative guidance for therapy programs. Apply professional judgment to solve complex issues. Work to meet and exceed patient needs. Promote an environment of innovation, creativity, and empowerment. Manage department in accordance with state law. Coordinate strategic planning for therapy services. Enforce policies and procedures for rehabilitation services. Participate in recruitment and facility meetings. Coordinate discharge planning and equipment management. Participate in family conferences as needed. Provide weekend coverage and flexible scheduling as required. Ensure compliance with company rules, policies, and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
