Job Description

The Levy Group of Companies is looking for two Gravel Train Drivers to join our Stacy Trucking team in either Oxford, MI or Wixom, MI. This role involves operating a tractor-trailer to transport and deliver materials efficiently.

Pay: Up to $29.52/HR

Shift/Schedule: Start Time 6:00 AM, Monday-Friday, Weekends possible

Responsibilities
The Gravel Train Driver will:

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Fuel vehicle, hook up tractor trailers, tarp vehicle, weight vehicle and process appropriate paperwork
• Drive to loading location and to assigned deliver location
• Maneuver vehicle to proper loading and dumping location
• Observe loading operation to ensure correct material, proper weight and proper distribution of material
• Communicate with personnel at receiving location to determine dumping location, to obtain special instructions and to get paperwork signed
• Dump pup and main trailer
• Release tailgate
• Untarp
• Use diversion value to engage hydraulic system
• Engage PTO to raise box and dump material
• Lower box and relatching tailgate
• Disconnect pup from main trailer
• Disconnect hydraulic, electrical and air connections
• Disconnect safety chains and mechanical coupler
• Backup to connect main trailer to pup and re-establish connections between main trailer and pup
• Document or communicate repair requests to mechanics
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle
• Maintain records and logs
• Properly handle breakdowns and accidents
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to operate tractor-trailer
• Valid driver's license with excellent driving record
• CDL Class A with T endorsement (Doubles)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods, tolerate noise and temperature variations, and lift 50 lbs
• Ability to climb on and into a vehicle
