DHHS Public Health is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in advancing public health initiatives focused on injury prevention and overdose reduction. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring program evaluation and performance measures to ensure our goals are met effectively. Working closely with prevention staff and an epidemiologist, and leveraging knowledge of injury prevention, public health, and child passenger safety, this position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a tangible impact on community health.
Responsibilities include developing grant applications, budgets, and progress reports, engaging with internal and external partners to identify resources and gaps, and facilitating collaborative efforts.
The role also involves providing technical assistance and training on evidence-based strategies, managing contracts and subawards in compliance with regulations, and conducting audits to ensure progress and financial integrity.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent coursework/training in community health education, biological science, adult/continuing education or related field AND experience in public/community health education activities with responsibility for: developing, evaluating, and leading health education program activities; assessing health needs; writing and designing educational and informational material, training aids, and presentations; preparing grant proposals; or planning and leading group sessions. Related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
