Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented Intake (Assessment & Referral) Counselor (PRN) . Must be able to work weekends, evenings,overnights, and holidays as needed.
The Intake Counselor in a mental health setting serves as the first point of contact for new patients, offering a welcoming and supportive environment while conducting initial assessments to evaluate mental health needs. This role involves coordinating appropriate care or referrals by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and ensuring continuity of care through effective communication with healthcare providers. A master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is required , along with clinical experience. Strong communication , empathy, organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are essential for success in this position.
QualificationsMinimum: A Master's degree in a behavioral science field such as Psychology or Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy. Master's degrees in Divinity or Education are acceptable only if the degree program emphasizes counseling.
Preferred: A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work with a license to practice in Mississippi.
