About Interstate Advanced Materials Headquartered in Sacramento, CA, and family-owned for over 44 years, we are an environmentally sustainable, award-winning wholesale distributor and fabricator of high performance plastic sheets, rods, tubes, and film. We serve various industries, including Aerospace, Defense, Semiconductor, Medical, Food Processing, Automotive, Agriculture, and more, from our locations in seven states across the US. Jr. Full Stack Developer (On-Premise) We’re looking for a curious and committed junior developer who wants to grow into a great web engineer—not just punch out code. If you’re motivated by solving real problems, if you love learning new technologies, and if you’re comfortable getting your hands dirty in a legacy procedural PHP codebase, this could be the role for you. Summary You’ll start as the primary support engineer for our customer-facing web portal—keeping things running smoothly, diagnosing and fixing bugs, and gradually becoming the internal expert on how it all works. Along the way, you’ll work side-by-side with a small team of seasoned full stack developers who will support your growth as we continue migrating from procedural PHP to modern Laravel / React frameworks. This is an on-premise role. We value collaboration and in-person teamwork, and believe it’s especially important when mentoring and onboarding junior developers. What You’ll Be Doing Maintain and improve our core business portal used by customers and internal teams Own and resolve bug reports and urgent break / fix issues Learn the structure and logic of a large procedural PHP codebase Collaborate on reworking key components into Laravel / React Support the transition from our v1 to v2 database architecture Contribute to production-quality code in a LAMP environment Participate in daily standups and team planning You Might Be a Great Fit If You : Have a genuine passion for web development and want to build your career around it Enjoy problem solving and are energized by untangling bugs and unexpected behaviors Are excited (not afraid) to work in procedural PHP and understand its value in a legacy system Are ready to grow into Laravel and React with real-world experience and mentorship Are easy to work with, communicative, humble, and self-motivated Are comfortable working full-time on-site with a small and supportive team Required Skills Some professional or personal experience writing code (in any language) Strong problem-solving skills and a good debugging mindset Familiarity with SQL and relational databases Eagerness to learn PHP, Laravel, React, and our existing tech stack Bonus Points For : Exposure to or experience in PHP (procedural or OOP) Understanding of version control systems (we use Git) Experience troubleshooting issues in production web environments This is a full-time, in office, position that offers a base salary and bonus program, career growth opportunities, team atmosphere, sales and advanced material training, and comprehensive benefits package, with health insurance, vacation, sick time, holiday pay, a generous 401k match, and a workplace you’ll love.
