SSSD has an opening for a Mechanical Technician 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the fabrication and development of mechanical engineering designs, testing and modifications of assemblies and composites related hardware. With some supervision, the individual interprets detailed drawings for fabrication and must demonstrate good knowledge of composites processes including the use of autoclave/oven systems, hand tools, lay-up and bagging of parts to a variety of molds, honeycomb core panel fabrication and assembly, and bonding using assembly fixtures. Experience with trimming, drilling, and insert and bushing installation in composites hardware is highly desired. Individuals will interface with Manufacturing and Design engineering as well as Materials and Processes personnel. Individual must be able to demonstrate to Quality Assurance that work performed meets engineering drawing requirements. Works with chemicals. This position may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work any shift.
Position requires 3 years minimum experience in the skills relative to the aerospace composites fabrication and assembly field. This position may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work any shift and extended work weeks.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $90,600.00 Salary Range 2: $64,600.00 - $107,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
