Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full‑time Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas. Dates/Times: Wednesday, December 3rd 10:00am–1:00pm & 4:00pm–6:00pm; Thursday, December 4th 10:00am–1:00pm. Please wear steel‑toed boots, long pants to your interview, and apply to speak with a recruiter! Compensation Hourly Pay $18.00 per hour during training. Additional Pay: $0.55 piece rate will apply in place of hourly rate after training is completed. Schedule: First Shift Monday–Friday 5:00am–1:30pm. Tools & Materials Products Being Handled: Pallets. Equipment: Hammer, Prybar, and power tools such as: Nail Gun, Grinder, Saw. Roles and Responsibilities Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets. Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards and secure boards into place. Stand for long periods (8–10 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds throughout the shift. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 0–1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred. Ability to comprehend basic math. Ability to operate power tools safely. Must be able to follow repair process. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch frequently. Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs using proper techniques. Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day). Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements. Additional Screening Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
