Congressional School is seeking part-time After School Teachers to join our Extended Hours Program (EHP) for the 2025-2026 school year . The EHP program providex a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students in Preschool through 8th Grade during after-school hours. Our staff play a key role in creating a warm, inclusive community where each child is known, supported, and celebrated.

This is a part-time position , working Monday-Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. , and reports to the Auxiliary Programs Manager .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a fun, nurturing, and safe aftercare experience for all students
• Plan and lead age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
• Actively supervise and engage with students during play and structured activities
• Prepare and serve snacks, assist children as needed during snack time
• Fulfill assigned duties such as supervising study hall, playground, or crosswalk
• Communicate promptly about any hazards, maintenance needs, or concerns
• Adhere to all state and school licensing requirements and safety regulations
• Address and support individual student needs, including medical or behavioral concerns
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to children and families
• Support the School's mission, vision, and core values through daily interactions and responsibilities
• Complete a minimum of 16 hours of Early Childhood Education training annually
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• At least six months of experience working with children
• Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work well as part of a team
• A growth mindset
