Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk for a temporary assignment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in payroll processing, accounting, and office administration who can thrive in a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
Distribute paychecks and final payroll checks with combined leave payoff.
Reconcile and transmit pension contributions and 403(b) deductions.
Prepare quarterly labor reports and monthly Workers’ Compensation reports.
Post payroll information to cash sheets and maintain payroll summaries.
Generate payroll tax summaries and Position Control Reports for staff.
Prepare non-confidential payroll reports and inter-company accounts receivable statements.
Process 1099 forms in accordance with Federal and State tax requirements.
Complete daily banking and postal runs as needed.
Run system reports and assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, data processing, or a related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and terminology.
Familiarity with payroll processes and requirements.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records.
Excellent communication skills.
