Job Description

Vaco is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk  for a temporary assignment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in payroll processing, accounting, and office administration who can thrive in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.

• Distribute paychecks and final payroll checks with combined leave payoff.

• Reconcile and transmit pension contributions and 403(b) deductions.

• Prepare quarterly labor reports and monthly Workers’ Compensation reports.

• Post payroll information to cash sheets and maintain payroll summaries.

• Generate payroll tax summaries and Position Control Reports for staff.

• Prepare non-confidential payroll reports and inter-company accounts receivable statements.

• Process 1099 forms in accordance with Federal and State tax requirements.

• Complete daily banking and postal runs as needed.

• Run system reports and assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, data processing, or a related field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping principles, methods, and terminology.

• Familiarity with payroll processes and requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records.

• Excellent communication skills.
