Position Title: Pharmacy Technician Location: Various Hayat Pharmacy locations Reports to: Operations Manager Position Purpose The Pharmacy Technician process and fill prescriptions. The Technician will also get the pharmacy environment ready for business by turning on equipment such as computers, printers, and scales; greet customers; measure and label medication; help take payment; help to control inventory and stock shelves; and enter data into a computerized system. The Technician will work directly with a dispensing pharmacist and Operation Manager to provide excellent customer service. Classification Exempt (salaried) _X_ Non-exempt (hourly) Position Responsibilities

1. Clean surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening.
2. Greet customers in person or by phone and respond to any questions they may have, or refer to the pharmacist as appropriate.
3. Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
4. Resolve issues when they arise, such as a rejected insurance claim.
5. Receive and review prescriptions. Read medication orders, prepare labels, select the appropriate medication, measure dosages. Fill and present prescription to the pharmacist for final verification.
6. Perform monthly inventory counts and assist with maintaining adequate supplies of medications. Ensure orders are correct and match the invoice. When new medications arrive, sort, stock, and label medications. Check for expired medications. Must be able to use cash register.
7. Follow operation policies and procedures including but not limited to the opening and closing procedures.

1. High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Associate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology or certification for Pharmacy Technology preferred.
2. 2 or more years of customer service experience in a pharmacy, retail or medical environment. Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with a resilient attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
5. Demonstrable dependability and customer-focused attitude.
6. Basic proficiency in computer skills and the ability to learn software programs.
7. Must be able to travel 70% of the time Hayat Pharmacy
