Job Description:
Crown Mechanical is searching for a full time Plumber Supervisor to join our growing team! Senior Plumbers are responsible for similar duties as Plumbers; however, they operate with advanced skill and independence. Senior Plumbers direct, lead, and perform a wide variety of advanced repair, installation, and maintenance tasks to plumbing fixtures and related equipment. They are responsible for independently installing, repairing, and replacing complex plumbing equipment, while providing technical guidance to lower-level plumbers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, testing, repairing, replacing, cleaning, and maintaining plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings, pumps, appliances, water heaters, tubs, toilets, sinks, filtration systems and equipment according to plumbing codes, regulations and/or ordinances.
  • Diagnose plumbing problems and perform repairs as required. Perform preventative maintenance on all plumbing systems and update or repair the systems as necessary.
  • Read and review blueprints, drawings and building codes to determine exact specifications and where plumbing systems will be installed.
  • Assemble and install pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
  • Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required angles, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading and bending machines.
  • Designing /aid in designing and installing systems used to transport water, waste, gases, or liquids.
  • Lay out piping systems; install proper hangers and support systems. Install pipefitting in compliance with applicable codes and construction documents.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are used.
  • Collaborate with sales team to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to customers on plumbing systems.
  • Mentoring junior plumbing technicians.
  • Pulling Permits
  • Strategic planning and streamlining of processes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

  • A valid Class I North Carolina plumbing license
  • At Least 5years of Journeyman plumbing experience
  • Must know how to operate heavy machinery for in ground pipe repairs
  • Must have knowledge of calling in city utility companies for proper line markings
  • Must have previous experience managing crews with multiple technicians
  • Has a valid Drivers License
  • Advanced knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, ordinances and rules
  • Advanced diagnostic skills
  • Proven track record with complex repair work and commercial systems
  • Professional knowledge base of plumbing practices and methods, health and safety regulations, materials used in the operation and repair of plumbing systems
  • Able to operate specialized machinery, equipment, and tools utilized in the repair, installation and maintenance of plumbing systems
  • Proven track record of meeting indicated schedules and timelines in relevance to plumbing
  • PC and Mobile Device technology skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of modern practices for repairing new and aging infrastructure
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to train and mentor junior plumbing technicians
  • Proven track record in designing and aiding in the design of systems

Physical Demand:

  • Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases
