About the Role


Amplitude is looking for an exceptional Staff/Principal level Product Designer to lead AI efforts across products, work at the forefront of what's possible with the latest models, and design new paradigms for interacting with software. This includes projects like Copilots, AI Agents, and innovative ways of visualizing data.

This is a role for a bold systems thinker. Someone that thrives at the intersection of high craft, and pushing the boundaries of the latest technology – all while frequently shipping and learning from customers. 

What You’ll Do



  • Lead design end-to-end: from strategy to execution to ship.

  • Design consumer-grade experiences for enterprise tools .

  • Rapidly prototype with the latest tools (Cursor, V0, Bolt, etc) to align and inspire stakeholders. 

  • Build with your cross-functional team to deliver the best experiences possible.

  • Think big, build small, and ship frequently to learn and iterate with customers. 

  • Define frameworks and patterns to help scale AI experiences across the Amplitude platform. 

  • Help build a strong design culture that levels everyone up and sets the bar for quality.

What you'll bring



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Clear thinking is clear writing. And clear writing is clear design. 

  • Past experience designing for B2B enterprise SaaS products.

  • Proven track record of shipping LLM-powered features or products that solve real problems

  • A keen ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, creating clarity out of complexity. 

  • Strong bias toward action, always pushing work forward, even without perfect data .

  • A portfolio of shipped work that demonstrates your experience working through the full product development lifecycle. 

Who you'll work with  


Some of the builders you’ll work closely with include Tyler (Director, Product Design), James (Director, Product + Head of AI), Vinay (Director, Engineering), Will (Principal Product Designer), Nicola (Senior Product Designer), and Eric (Principal AI Engineer).

And of course you'll also collaborate with an incredible team of 12+ multi-talented designers across our broader design org and many many other talented PMs and Engineers all shaping what's next in our space.

  • Salary range for this role is $199,000 to $333,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission, based on location).

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $222,000 - $333,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $222,000 - $333,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $199,000 - $298,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $199,000 - $298,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
