Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

MindCare Solutions is a clinician-owned and operated leader in comprehensive mental health solutions for acute care facilities. We are expanding our team and seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated and collaborative group. Ideal candidate has strong ED, med/surg, and other medical surgical/inpatient experience.

Compensation: up to $90/hour

Schedule: Full-Time, M-F, 10am-6pm

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities:

• ED, med/surg, other medical surgical/inpatient experience
• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate a patients' mental health status
• Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
• Candidate needs to be comfortable working with comorbid diagnosis (substance use disorder and mental illness).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
• Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
• Preferred comfort level managing chronic medical condition (continuing home meds, minor adjustments if necessary). Provider will have FM/IM consult support
• Perform ED and med/surg consults with patients at same facility
• Ability to perform telehealth visits to patients located on medical floor and/or ED units at other partnering facilities.
• Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
• The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Offers education and support to patients regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions

Qualifications:

• Valid license as a Registered Nurse; Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in CA
• At least 1 year of Psychiatric Acute care experience
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners will maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide)
• Direct experience with acute care facilities is preferred as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
• Active and unrestricted driver’s license
