QUANTITATIVE EQUITY ANALYST

We have an opportunity for a Quantitative Equity Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will:

  • Develop and enhance Hillsdale’s existing stock selection models.
  • Research and develop new factors, strategies and stock selection models.
  • Provide routine support to Portfolio Managers for managing multiple portfolios.
  • Process large structured and/or unstructured datasets to extract predictive signals.
  • Present research and portfolio analysis results to key internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams on a day-to-day basis.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • A minimum of two years of financial industry experience in a quantitative role.
  • Degree(s) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related discipline.
  • Programming skills: Python, Excel/VBA, R, MATLAB, etc.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively while incorporating economic intuition with empirical evidence.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in complex analysis.
  • Understanding of financial theory and financial statements, including accounting concepts.
  • Experience working with financial datasets and data vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have (preferred but not required)

  • Prior Quantitative Investing experience is a huge plus.
  • Experience in one or more: Factor Models, Econometrics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Asset Pricing, Risk Management.
  • CFA, FRM or related designation.
