Overview

Loretto is a comprehensive, continuing care organization providing a variety of healthcare services for older adults across Central New York. We are seeking a motivated and passionate Social Work Intern to join our Human Resource team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in social work to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.


The successful candidate will work on a flexible schedule in-person at our Commons on St. Anthony location in Auburn, NY. This is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities

• Completing assessments (admission assessments for rehab and long-term care, depression screening, trauma screening)
• Coordinating services for discharge planning
• Attending and assisting with team/family meetings and care planning
• Providing emotional and social support for residents and families

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Social Work, Human Services or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
