Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and current BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 40-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population includes medical cardiology, cardio-thoracic and vascular surgery, and step-down critical care cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3-4 during days, 4 in PMs, and 5 at night
• Uses electronic charting, Pyxis, epidurals, PCA’s, barcode scanning for meds, temporary pacers, chest tubes, wound vacs, and IV Alaris pumps
• Epic EMR is used in the unit
• 12-hour night shifts with varied schedules and every other weekend required
• No call requirement
• Floating may occur to MSICU, MSIMC, CICU, or on occasion to med-surg areas (MAP, OCU, PCU, PSCU)
• Travelers may be required to float to other facilities in the Central Region, including Wausau, Merrill, and Langlade
• Main duties include providing nursing care for step-down critical care patients in a cardiac-focused environment
• Contract staff receive a 12-hour department orientation, learning lab, mini-hospital orientation, and Epic training
• Dress code is scrubs
• No call required
• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as scheduled

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to perform basic EKG interpretation, assessments, medication administration, dressing changes, and manage telemetry equipment
