Veterinary Assistant
Newport Veterinary Hospital - Rock Hill, SC
Full-Time

Salary: $14.50-$17.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Our assistants work Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-6:00 PM, with a day off each week. Saturday shifts are 7:30 AM-12:00 PM and required. If you're scheduled for a Saturday, you'll also receive an additional day during the week in addition to your regular day off.

Position Summary
We are currently hiring an experienced Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a team environment and is confident in their clinical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
• Provide safe handling and restraint of patients
• Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare samples as directed
• Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
• Accurately update patient records and support client communication
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting strongly preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate and attentive to patient needs
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
