Position Overview: Forklift Operator
Abacus is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is responsible for safely operating various equipment, including a Stand-Up/Sit-Down Forklift , Order Picker , Electric Pallet Jack , High Reach , and Turret Truck , to efficiently transport materials, manage inventory, and load/unload goods within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections on forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
Safely operate all assigned equipment, including Stand-Up/Sit-Down Forklifts, Order Pickers, Electric Pallet Jacks, High Reach trucks, and Turret Trucks.
Transport inventory throughout the warehouse and safely load/unload items from racks and shelves.
Pick, stack, and organize products in line with warehouse procedures and layout.
Ensure safe handling and proper storage of all products.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper equipment usage and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Work collaboratively with team members to complete orders and maintain timely product distribution.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
Support general warehouse operations, including material handling and assisting with incoming/outgoing shipments.
Immediately report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the warehouse supervisor.
Be willing to perform additional general warehouse duties as directed by the Lead or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of proven experience operating warehouse forklift equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and equipment operation.
Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive setting.
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and order processing (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending , and reaching .
Ability to work in varied temperatures , including cool, ambient, or cold storage environments.
