Job Description

Accounting Assistant / Project Accountant

PrideStaff Financial has partnered with a Sacramento-based sub contractor in search of an Accounting Assistant to assist in managing the financial aspects of one or more specific projects within the organization. This involves tracking costs, managing budgets, and ensuring accurate financial reporting to support project success. They act as a liaison between project managers and the finance team, providing financial insights and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and processing invoices related to project expenses.
  • Ensuring all project financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assisting with project job costs and revenue.
  • Communicating financial information and insights to project teams and stakeholders.
  • New job set up/complete all compliance documentation
  • Analyzing project expenses, identifying variances, and ensuring costs stay within approved limits.
  • Preparing regular financial reports for project managers and stakeholders, including profit and loss statements and cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare and process lien waivers and lien releases

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and resolve issues.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in financial records and reporting.
  • Organizational skills: Managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Communication skills: Effectively communicating financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in accounting software: Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel Intermediate
  • Experience with project management principles: Understanding of project management methodologies and terminology.

This role is based in a corporate office setting, requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment and software. PrideStaff Financial is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
