Position: Diesel Truck Mechanic

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Duration: Full-Time- On site

Description

The client is seeking a skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic with strong hands-on experience in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing light to medium-duty trucks and trailers. This is a full-time role in Los Angeles, offering stable, long-term career growth within a supportive and safety-focused work environment.

This position is ideal for mechanics who take pride in their work, have their own tools, and thrive in a collaborative yet independent setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair diesel truck issues, including electrical, air, and hydraulic systems.

Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, lube service, and brake inspections.

Inspect systems including brakes, steering, bearings, and electrical components.

Conduct circuit tests on electrical, air, and hydraulic systems.

Identify and communicate parts requirements to the Parts Department.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Work independently or with a team to complete repairs efficiently.

Adapt to changing priorities as directed by the supervisor.

Must-Have Qualifications:

5+ years of diesel truck general repair experience.

Complete set of mechanics tools ( roll-away cabinet + portable tool cart ).

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including electrical, air, and hydraulics.

Consistent punctuality and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ideal Candidate has:

Experience in private truck shops or service yards.

Background with heavy-duty brands such as Ford, Freightliner, Peterbilt, International, Kenworth, or General Motors.

Ability to remove and replace components such as bearings, air compressors, oil pans, etc.

Strong attendance record with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
