The Opportunity The principal purpose of this position is to ensure food safety and quality in retail store operations, in collaboration with other teams, provide food safety and quality leadership, and help to create food safety and quality programs to support the business. Responsibilities Developing and overseeing policies and procedures that are related to food safety and quality. Ensuring that relevant teams are aware and trained on food safety and quality. Managing food safety and quality programs in retail stores, proactively identifying problems before they occur. Auditing all stores for adherence to food safety and quality standards and related SOPs. Conducting on site and virtual food safety and quality training, along with creating/updating food safety and quality training programs as needed in retail stores. Directly interfacing with key business partners, including store operations, facilities, sanitation service providers to ensure proper risk mitigation. Serving as a subject matter expert for food safety and quality, including oversight of food safety and quality company results, activities, mitigations, and tactical planning. Visiting stores in critical markets to train, direct, guide field operators and interact with regulatory agencies. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in science, technology, engineering, or related fields. 3-5 years related industry experience. Experience in administering programs with regulatory oversight. Strong people skills; the ability to quickly develop relationships and communicate with multiple internal and external business partners. Analytical thinking and problem solving; able to creatively solve problems, innovative approaches where required with ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented and coordination of multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Ability to work flexible schedule. Travel approximately 20%. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Managing food safety and quality programs. Industry certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner, or equivalent. Certifications/Licenses food safety and quality preferred.
