Food Safety Supervisor

Pay Rate: $47,500-$52,000/year

Epic Personnel Partners is seeking a Food Safety Supervisor in Ruther Glen, VA!

The Food Safety Supervisor ensures that food safety and quality standards are maintained throughout all kitchen operations for Ready-to-Eat (RTE) products. This position oversees compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal policies, while directly supervising the Kitchen Quality Assurance Team during food processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the Kitchen Quality Assurance Team to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP & Preventive Controls, Allergen Control Procedures, and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
• Monitor and verify all QA documentation and kitchen records for accuracy and completion.
• Ensure compliance with customer food safety and hygiene standards throughout kitchen operations.
• Conduct internal audits and maintain third-party audit readiness.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections (FDA, USDA, state and local agencies).
• Train and support kitchen staff on food safety protocols and QA procedures.
• Investigate customer complaints related to food quality or safety and implement corrective actions.
• Support updates to food safety plans and regulatory documentation as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• 1–3 years of experience in Food Quality Assurance
• HACCP Certification
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and compliance standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred:

• College degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
• Certifications: SQF Practitioner, Food Defense Coordinator, PCQI
• Allergen and GMP training
• Working knowledge of WMS systems; SAP and Gold System experience preferred
