Description:

The Food Service/Dining Services Director is responsible for overseeing the dining services department reporting to the Executive Director. This is a hands-on position, involving timely and courteous service to residents.

• Creates nutritious, appealing and enjoyable hospitality program.
• Creatively plan menus aligned with our “fresh food” philosophy.
• Hire, develop and manage a team of chefs and aides, guiding them on all aspects of hospitality,
• Including portion control, plate presentation, table set up, food service, and dining manners/protocols.
• Schedule and manage to high safety and sanitation standards in dining room clean up, dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness.
• Plan special meals, themed events and other hospitality related activities.
• Conduct pre-meal meetings to set expectations, and maintain a strong presence in the dining room.
• Manage the departmental budget through careful planning, purchasing, inventory control and the safe, time-sensitive utilization of left-overs.

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts required.
• 5+ years in a congregate meal setting (assisted living experience a plus), with a minimum of two years in a leadership position.
