Compensation:$70,000-$100,000 OTE , paid weekly on Thursdays

About the Role:

Herbert Roofing is seeking a strategic, experienced, and people-focused General Manager to lead day-to-day operations, manage teams, drive business development, and ensure project success across our roofing operations in Harbor Springs. The ideal candidate has a background in construction or roofing and is passionate about leading people, improving processes, and growing a business with integrity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operations Oversight: Lead all daily operations, ensuring roofing projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor project managers, field crews, and office staff. Build a performance-driven culture rooted in collaboration and accountability.
• Financial Management: Develop budgets, analyze financial reports, control costs, and drive profitability.
• Business Development: Identify growth opportunities, strengthen client relationships, and pursue new markets to expand revenue.
• Customer Service: Serve as the point of contact for high-value clients and maintain long-term customer satisfaction.
• Sales & Marketing: Lead efforts to increase market visibility and customer acquisition.
• Project Management: Ensure staffing, scheduling, materials, and quality control align with project objectives.
• Compliance & Safety: Maintain regulatory compliance and enforce safety standards across all sites.
• Staff Development: Conduct performance evaluations, lead training initiatives, and promote internal growth.
• Reporting & Communication: Provide regular updates to ownership, streamline communication across departments, and track KPIs.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years in roofing or construction; minimum 3 years in a leadership or general management role.
• Leadership: Strong team management, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Financial Acumen: Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
• Industry Expertise: Familiarity with roofing systems, local building codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and client-facing interactions.
• Organization: Strong time management, project prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Certifications such as OSHA, GAF, or NRCA a plus.
• Technical Skills: Comfortable with Microsoft Office, project management tools, and CRM platforms
