We’re hiring a senior HR leader for one of New York City’s premier luxury hotels!

Director of Human Resources & Training – Luxury Hotel, NYC

This is a senior leadership role that requires proven experience in union environments within the hospitality industry. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to hotel leadership, ensuring compliance, driving employee engagement, and building a culture that supports both employees and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all Human Resources and Training functions.
  • Serve as the property’s primary liaison for union negotiations, grievances, and compliance matters .
  • Partner with the executive team to align HR strategy with the hotel’s mission, culture, and goals.
  • Lead talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to support employee engagement and retention.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Foster a workplace environment that prioritizes both compliance and a culture of excellence.

Qualifications

  • Union 6 experience in hospitality is required — this is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Background in luxury or upscale hotels strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of labor law, compliance, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Energetic, influential leader with exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
