HVAC Project Manager

Location: Long Beach, CA (Greater Los Angeles area)

The Opportunity

A steadily growing commercial and industrial mechanical contractor is expanding its service-based HVAC division throughout Southern California. To sustain this momentum, the company is seeking an HVAC Project Manager who can take full project ownership from estimate through close-out. You will partner directly with general contractors, owners, and your own union field crews to deliver retrofit and ground-up projects that keep critical facilities running smoothly. Key Responsibilities

• Win the work develop estimates from take-offs, load calculations, site walks, and client meetings, then craft and present competitive proposals.
• Plan and procure buy major HVAC equipment and coordinate subcontractors, tools, and materials to keep jobs on schedule and under budget.
• Drive field execution maintain a strong site presence, resolve design or installation issues with architects and engineers, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Control cost and contract administration issue change orders, track job costing, manage billing and collections, and keep all stakeholders informed.
• Ensure compliance secure permits, schedule inspections, and manage project documentation through final warranty delivery.
• Lead people coach and mentor a collaborative union crew, fostering accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years managing commercial or industrial HVAC projects (service, retrofit, or tenant improvement).
• Proven ability to bid and deliver projects in the $20 K$2 M range while meeting schedule and profit goals.
• Working knowledge of BlueBeam and MS Office; familiarity with job-costing or construction management software a bonus.
• Comfortable supervising union sheet-metal and piping personnel.
• Strong mechanical drawing literacy, take-off, and load calculation skills.
• Valid CA drivers license and ability to travel to jobsites across LA/OC.
