Junior Copywriter

We are currently seeking an eager and hardworking Junior Copywriter to join our innovative and hardworking team. This individual will join a growing team of creative professionals and will dedicate themselves to assisting our lead Copywriter in communicating brand messaging through package copy, user manuals, sales presentations, and other channels as they arise. This role encompasses a balance of marketing, technical writing, and content management, and so it is critically important for the person filling this role to be versatile and highly adaptive. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, possess a basic understanding of modern design software, utilize strong communication skills, and display an impressive command of language.

This position reports to our lead Copywriter.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent support to our lead Copywriter.
• Under the supervision of our lead Copywriter, organize and manage copy workflow based on production schedules.
• Proofread materials for consistency, spelling, and grammar.
• Assist in drafting compelling copy for several nationally recognized consumer electronics brands.
• Translate technical information into engaging copy to market products to consumers.
• Confirm accuracy of information on packaging and user manuals.
• Participate in discussions with Design, Sales, Import, and Sourcing departments to establish priorities, brand language, and product direction.
• Assist in organizing copy docs for translation/submission to translators.
• Occasionally assist in drafting copy for e-commerce.

Ideal Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in English (or other writing-heavy area of focus).
• Prior experience writing professional copy in an environment requiring great attention to detail is a huge plus.
• Knowledge of consumer electronics, accessories, and home goods.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
• Understanding of traffic management.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
• Detail oriented.
