Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Contracting & Negotiation:
Identify and contract with global logistics partners for air, sea, road, and rail cargo. Negotiate terms, pricing, and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
Supplier Coordination for Material Readiness:
Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely material readiness for shipment. Monitor and track material availability and coordinate logistics based on production schedules and delivery timelines.
Customs Clearance & Regulatory Compliance:
Oversee customs clearance processes for both imports and exports, ensuring all goods comply with the necessary customs regulations and trade laws. Manage documentation and liaise with customs agents and freight forwarders to avoid delays.
Shipping Mode Selection & Management:
Evaluate and select the most appropriate shipping modes based on cost, time, and reliability, whether by air, sea, road, or rail. Ensure that shipments meet delivery deadlines while optimizing costs.
Shipping Documentation & Accuracy:
Prepare and manage all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, packing lists, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and any other required export/import documentation. Ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
Incoterms & Global Trade Compliance:
Ensure that all shipments comply with international trade regulations and are aligned with the relevant Incoterms. Coordinate with internal teams and logistics providers to ensure a smooth and compliant delivery process.
Delivery Tracking & Problem Resolution:
Track shipments from the point of dispatch to the final destination, ensuring timely and secure delivery. Address and resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies in shipment.
Multi-modal Transportation Expertise:
Manage multi-modal transportation across air, sea, road, and rail. Ensure the seamless transition between transportation modes and coordinate with logistics providers to optimize delivery timelines and costs.
Customs Duties & Tariff Management:
Monitor and optimize customs duties and tariffs to reduce costs. Work with customs brokers to manage duty drawback programs and ensure compliance with free trade agreements, if applicable.
Performance Monitoring & KPIs:
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track logistics performance, including on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and customs clearance times. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics operations.
Cross-functional Coordination:
Work closely with procurement, production, quality, and finance teams to ensure alignment on material readiness, shipment schedules, and cost controls. Communicate regularly with stakeholders on delivery status and potential delays
