💼 Job Opening: Mainframe Systems Programmer

📍 Location: Onsite in Portland, OR ( Relocate works)

⏳ Duration: 24-Month Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer to support critical mainframe operations for customer service and work management. This role will also be actively involved in a major transformation project to migrate away from the current platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day mainframe operations, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Capture screens and prepare documentation for audits.
• Validate technical direction from vendors and support audit requirements.
• Apply software upgrades and manage mainframe licenses.
• Collaborate with auditors and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate vendor recommendations analytically and objectively.

Technical Requirements

• Strong experience with z/OS .
• Familiarity with Cool: Gen , CA Endevor SCM (Endeavor) , and RACF .
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Prior mainframe systems experience required (utility industry background is a plus, but not required).
• Dell DLM (Disk Library for Mainframe) experience is needed.
• No programming language requirement if you are a senior-level mainframe systems professional.

Other Details

• This is a hands-on technical role (not a people management position).
• Onsite role in Portland, OR (travel/relocation may be required).
