Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist on behalf of our specialty client.

Medical Billing Specialist

Location: Folsom, CA, (immediate hire, must currently live in the area)

Pay: $25.00-30.00

Schedule:

• In person
• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 am to 5:00 pm pst

About the Role:

As the Medical Billing Specialist , you will provide your expertise to the Medical Billing and Authorization , ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. You will play a pivotal role in streamlining processes, resolving billing issues, and maintaining exceptional organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years strong background in medical billing, collections and insurance authorizations (worker’s compensation). Looking for friendly inviting personality to our clients being able to multi- task when needed to assist with light phones or patient paperwork drop off. Assertive with billing duties.

Responsibilities:

• Process incoming payments, post payments, and handle any collection related calls, collect for worker's compensation.
• Request authorization from insurance companies.
• Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion.
• Submit billing data to insurance providers and billing service.
• Work claims and claim denials ensure maximum reimbursement for services.
• Implement, maintain and report on programs initiated by the practice.
• Review aging reports for past due invoices and status of accounts, posting payments, collecting from: private pay, Workers Compensation, PPO, and Medicare.
• Work to collect unpaid claim reimbursement.
• Process at least 175 claims a day.
• Send out statements of past due accounts, following up on status of payments, receiving and reviewing denials, and researching denials to expedite payment.
• Obtain authorization from insurance (worker’s compensation).
• Investigate and appeal claims that were denied.
• Review patient bills and correct any missing or inaccurate information.

Key Qualifications:

• Medicare billing policies and procedures, PPO and worker's compensation.
• Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), eligibilities and authorizations
• Insurance and claims submission
• Coding and collections
• HCPCS and ICD10 codes
• Microsoft Office- primarily Excel (sorting, formatting, using simple formulas)
• Basic medical terminology
• Bilingual Spanish, preferred

Experience:

Patient billing and collections skills, 3+ years as a medical biller
