Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The individual in the position must have the skills and experience to diagnose and perform repairs on a wide variety of trailers, tractors, and heavy equipment. They must possess a broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and technological principles.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Subject matter expert for installations, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical products and equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer's specifications.
\n
• Travels on-site to operate, inspect, and diagnose malfunctions/defects.
\n
• Develop relationships with new and existing customers.
\n
• Perform product delivery demonstrations throughout the company and at customer facilities.
\n
• Promote the company's products and services.
\n
• Read, understand, and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
\n
• Maintain quality standards and ensure installations and repairs conform to factory specifications.
\n
• Ensure all work completed is in accordance with all company polices DOT, OSHA and other governmental standards and regulations.
\n
• Safe Handling and disposing of hazardous wastes, such as, oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, auto parts cleaner, and similar material that comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
\n
• Successfully complete factory authorized training.
\n
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
\n
• Properly complete assigned paperwork as instructed.
\n
• Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company's assets.
\n
• Maintains a high awareness of technical changes related to the industry and products sold and serviced by the company.
\n
• Perform other duties as assigned that assist with achieving company goals.
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Must have 7-10 years' experience in heavy duty truck, trailer and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
\n
• Must have a valid driver's license, with no infractions in the last 5 years.
\n
• Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, forklifts, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.
\n
• Must have previous experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, body repairs and welding. Lift-gate experience a plus.
\n
• Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, result-oriented, problem-solving attitude.
\n
• Must have excellent communication skills.
\n
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Must have own hand tools; Hale provides a state-of-the-art Service Truck for outside work.
\n
• Must adhere to all Company policies including safety policies.
\n
• Travel 50% or greater including out-of-state.
\n
• Must pass pre-employment testing and meet all DOT requirements.
