(Mobile, AL) : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Optician .

Essential Duties:
• Demonstrate positive behavior towards customers, associates, and the company.
• Assist customers with the selection and fitting of eyewear.
• Inspect and repair eyewear.
• Assist with the selection of eyewear, magnifiers, and optical accessories.
• Solve problems and provide solutions to patients’ eyewear concerns.
• Maintain neat and attractive dispensing areas.
• Operate the practice management system efficiently and update patient records.
• Assign prices to eyewear and return defective products to manufacturers.
• Conduct periodic inventories.
• Adhere to assigned work schedules, observe work hours, and maintain consistent attendance.
• Attend in-service programs as required.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, and the public.
• Follow all corporate and departmental policies and comply with the Employee Handbook.
• Perform other duties as needed or directed.

Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma required; technical experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of optical work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use inspection and fitting tools for eyewear.
• Strong manual dexterity for examining, adjusting, and repairing eyewear.
• Ability to interpret prescriptions and assist with optical product selection.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Problem-solving skills to address and resolve customer concerns.
• Ability to maintain organized and professional work areas.
• Proficiency with practice management systems and patient record updates.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in assigning prices and managing inventory.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity to handle, adjust, and repair eyewear.
• Visual acuity for inspecting eyewear and assisting customers with fittings.
• Must exert medium force to lift and carry 20–50 lbs occasionally, 10–15 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
• Ability to concentrate in a busy office environment with distractions such as conversations and foot traffic.
