Phlebotomist at Labcorp summary:

As a Float Phlebotomist at Labcorp, you will perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques on patients of all ages across multiple locations. The role involves specimen preparation, patient data entry, billing, and providing excellent customer service, with opportunities for growth and skill development. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in teams while traveling between sites as needed.

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience. You will be working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations. Work Schedule: PRN working on an as needed basis; will work 8 hour shifts between 3:00AM & 2:00PM

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Work Location: Will cover at locations in Warren, MI and Madison Heights, MI

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a phlebotomist
• May consider candidates without on the job experience that have completed a phlebotomy training program
• Must have a Valid Driver's License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Must be at least 21 years’ old
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
