The GA DHS Security Compliance Project Manager provides project management support to the DHS Security Team, focusing on security audits and compliance. The role involves planning, creating, and monitoring project schedules, assessing work performed by the audit engagement team, and ensuring engagements are completed according to policies and procedures. The Project Manager will also identify opportunities for improvement within assigned security projects and provide leadership to project teams.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a security audit portfolio workstream plan.
- Direct project team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Use established project standards, procedures, and quality objectives.
- Identify opportunities or weaknesses within assigned security projects and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide work direction and leadership to assign audit projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts.
- Monitor audit project milestones and critical dates to identify potential schedule jeopardy and resolve issues.
- Assess variances from the project plan, gather metrics, and implement changes to ensure projects remain within scope, time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Conduct formal reviews with business sponsors at project completion.
- Provide constructive feedback to the team regarding project performance.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or specialized training and 3 years of IT project management experience.
- 3 years of experience leading projects with an information security or compliance focus (occurring in the last 3 years).
- Experience in information security principles and standards such as NIST 800-53, IRS Pub 1075.
- Expert-level hands-on experience with MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint 2013, and MS O365.
- 3 years of experience leading/coordinating vendor-managed/audit projects (within the last 3 years).
- PMP certification from PMI or equivalent certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Master's degree in a related field or specialized security certifications.
- 3 years of experience working in state government.
- 3 years of experience in Health and Human Services Systems, eligibility projects, and business processes.
- 3 years of experience working in an outsourced environment.
- Executive-level written and oral communication skills.
