Overview Prospect Research Associate at Fordham University will conduct in-depth research on individuals and organizations to evaluate their connections, interests, and potential contributions to the University. This role supports major gift officers and university leaders by generating detailed prospect profiles. Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Development, the Associate manages prospecting tools, identifies new donor prospects, updates the database, prepares research for events and campaigns, and assists in training research staff and interns. The position is scheduled for 35 hours per week, works at the Lincoln Center campus, and is hybrid. Essential Functions Compile and analyze publicly available biographical and other information on prospects to determine relationships, interests, and giving capacity. Prepare and update written profiles on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects for major gift officers and vice presidents. Manage daily periodicals, lists, alerts, and other prospecting resources. Proactively identify new prospects and determine their potential giving capacity. Update prospect database regularly and prepare specialized research for event and campaign purposes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year of experience in prospect research or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with personal computers, MS Office, Google Office suites, and standard prospect research tools (business directories, online databases, Internet resources). Strategic and creative thinker with excellent prioritization and multi‑tasking skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with researchers, fundraisers, and senior‑level administration. Strong writing skills, thorough research skills, and an eye for detail. Discretion and ethical handling of confidential material. Preferred Qualifications None specified. Salary Minimum starting salary $65,000; maximum starting salary $70,000.
