Summary:
The Senior Epic Security Analyst serves as a subject-matter expert in Epic security design, build, and maintenance. This role ensures proper access, compliance, and operational efficiency across Epic applications and integrated systems. The analyst works closely with clinical, business, and IT stakeholders to manage user access provisioning, maintain security policies, conduct audits, and support enterprise security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Epic security, including user templates, providers, provider blueprints, roles, and profiles.
Partner with application and operational teams to define access requirements, ensuring least-privilege access and role-based security standards.
Manage user provisioning/deprovisioning workflows and troubleshoot security-related issues.
Serve as an escalation point for complex Epic security requests and incidents.
Collaborate with Information Security teams on enterprise-wide initiatives, including identity management and multi-factor authentication.
Document security processes, build guides, and train junior analysts or operational staff.
Support go-live activities, upgrades, and new module implementations with a focus on security readiness.
Participate in on-call rotation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience supporting Epic applications, with at least 3 years specializing in Epic security preferred.
Epic Security certification optional (may include Epic Security Coordinator or relevant Epic module certifications).
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a senior or lead Epic security role.
Knowledge of audit tools, reporting, and compliance frameworks.
Experience in large, complex healthcare organizations.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
