We’re seeking experienced statisticians to contribute to a focused project helping evaluate and benchmark the safety and reliability of advanced AI systems. Your work will help determine how well models understand data distributions, variability, significance, and other statistical principles — with real-world implications for model behavior, robustness, and safety.\n\nThis is a short-term project through December 29th, requiring an estimated 40–100 total hours, beginning with a paid 2–4 day work trial.\n\nSample of Reported Job Titles:\nStatistician, Statistical Analyst, Data Statistician, Biostatistician, Research Statistician\n\nProject Overview:\nYou’ll be helping assess how well AI systems grasp core statistical concepts across a variety of real-world tasks. For example, you might review how a model interprets p-values, draws conclusions from data summaries, or chooses methods for comparing distributions. The aim is to build a high-quality benchmark that helps improve AI model interpretability, reliability, and safety — especially in high-stakes decision-making contexts.\n\nIdeal Profile:\n-- Regularly use statistical methods to answer applied questions\n-- Can distinguish between correct and subtly flawed interpretations of data\n-- Are interested in how data and statistical reasoning interact with emerging technology\n\nMust-Have Qualifications:\n-- 4+ years full-time experience as a statistician or closely related title\n-- English language fluency\n-- U.S. residency\n-- Access to a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet\n-- Technology proficiency: Comfortable with messaging, video calls, and file uploads\n-- Ability to follow detailed written instructions and complete tasks independently\n\nCompensation and Logistics:\n-- Hourly pay: $40–$144/hr, plus task-based bonuses, depending on experience and fit\n-- Paid bi-weekly based on approved hours\n-- Entirely remote — work when you like, as long as deadlines are met\n-- Current employment in the field is not required\nCOMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS:\n-Hourly pay: $38–$144 per hour, plus task bonuses, based on experience and fit\n-Paid bi-weekly based on tracked and approved hours\n-Classification as 1099 independent contractor; engagement is at-will\n-Entirely remote - work whenever you like as long as deadlines are met\n-Current employment in the field is not required
