Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
\n• Every other weekend requirement with 4 shifts out of 4-week schedule
\n• Weekend shifts for days are Saturday and Sunday
\n• Mixed unit combining Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients
\n• Patient ratios: 1 to 4 telemetry patients or 1 to 5 Medical Surgical patients (may have mixed assignment)
\n• Fast-paced unit with high admission and discharge volume due to surgical cases
\n• Care for patients with acute/chronic medical conditions, post-surgical patients including bariatrics and total joints, stroke patients
\n• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting all cardiac rhythms
\n• Manage non-titratable drips and set rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin
\n• Handle CPAP or BiPAP patients with respiratory therapy support
\n• Travelers are first to float to other Medical Surgical/Telemetry units, ICU for overflow, or ER for holds
\n• Strict attendance policy - punctuality is essential
\n• Orientation typically 1-2 shifts, may extend to 3 shifts depending on experience
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Cerner EMR experience preferred
\n• Navy blue scrubs required with matching jacket and navy, white, or black undershirt
\n• Expected to work major and minor holidays per staff rotation schedule
\n• Block scheduling not guaranteed

This acute care facility features a 39-bed mixed Medical Surgical and Telemetry unit with 37 private rooms and 1 semi-private room. The facility maintains 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, pharmacy with Omnicell system, and on-call hospitalist/intensivist coverage. The organization utilizes Phillips telemetry monitoring and Cerner electronic medical records system, with comprehensive support staff including charge nurses, break nurses, and CNAs based on census needs.
