Job Description
INTRODUCTION
Step into a purposeful role as an Occupational Therapist with a specialty focus on transforming lives in Maine, starting in the welcoming town of Skowhegan. This opportunity blends clinical excellence with the beauty of New England living, offering you a platform to empower patients to reclaim independence, mobility, and confidence in their daily routines. As you apply evidence-based OT practices—evaluating occupational performance, designing customized treatment plans, and promoting meaningful activity—you’ll see the tangible impact of your work on individuals and families. Beyond the therapy room, you’ll experience the tranquility of Maine’s landscapes, from winding rivers and scenic byways to vibrant local communities rich in culture and history. Skowhegan provides a close-knit setting where you can deliver high-quality care while enjoying a slower pace, friendly neighborhoods, and opportunities to explore outdoor escapes during personal time. This role is more than a job; it’s a chance to shape brighter outcomes in people’s lives and to grow as a clinician within a supportive, dynamic network of professionals.
LOCATION BENEFITS
Based in Skowhegan, Maine, you’ll enjoy a community-centered environment with access to high-quality healthcare facilities, continuing education, and a reasonable cost of living that supports a balanced lifestyle. Maine offers year-round outdoor recreation—from hiking and kayaking in the spring and summer to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter—alongside rich local arts, farmers markets, and neighborhood gatherings that foster connection. The location promotes meaningful patient relationships and the chance to tailor interventions to a diverse patient population, including adults and seniors navigating recovery from illness or injury, chronic conditions, or post-surgical rehabilitation. If you’re drawn to broader experiences, you’ll also have the opportunity to work across various U.S. locations as part of our travel program, expanding your professional network, exposing you to different care environments, and enriching your OT practice. Housing support is provided, easing relocation and ensuring you settle into an environment conducive to focus and well-being. Regardless of where you travel, you’ll benefit from ongoing access to resources, colleagues, and mentors who share a passion for patient-centered care.
ROLE SPECIFICS AND BENEFITS
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a pivotal role in assessment, treatment planning, and hands-on intervention. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive OT evaluations to determine functional goals, prioritizing occupational performance, and developing individualized plans that address mobility, activities of daily living, cognitive strategies, and home safety. You’ll implement evidence-based interventions, choose adaptive equipment and assistive devices, and guide patients and families through the rehabilitation journey with clear, compassionate communication. Documentation in the electronic medical record will reflect progress, goals, and discharge plans, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team—physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and social workers—to optimize outcomes. You’ll also contribute to program development, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects that enhance care delivery.
This role comes with compelling benefits designed to support your career trajectory and personal well-being: a competitive weekly pay range of $1,971 to $2,048, with guaranteed hours of 36 per week, and the security that comes from consistent, reliable compensation. You’ll have access to a sign-on or completion bonus, as well as housing assistance to ease transition and relocation costs. There are clear pathways for extension opportunities, allowing you to deepen your experience in occupational therapy and potentially diversify your patient population or clinical settings. Comprehensive 24/7 support is available as you travel with the company, ensuring you have guidance, resources, and backup whenever you need it. And because professional growth matters, you’ll benefit from ongoing access to clinical mentors, continuing education allowances, and opportunities to expand your skill set through specialized certifications and practice areas within OT.

Whether you’re building expertise in pediatrics, geriatrics, or general rehabilitation, you’ll find mentors, peers, and leaders who invest in your success and well-being. Our commitment extends beyond performance; we cultivate a workplace where your voice matters, your goals are supported, and your impact is measurable.
