Job Description
· Conceives, produces, writes, records, edits, and distributes audio content supporting NSF OLPA initiatives.
· Produces audio programs, segments, and podcasts, including interviewing, narration, hosting, and sound design.
· Leads audio post-production, including editing spoken word, natural sound, music, and effects into polished deliverables.
· Supports distribution to appropriate platforms and coordinates notifications to media and stakeholders.
· Responds to public, media, and research community inquiries regarding produced audio content.
· Produces and supports NSF audio programs (e.g., podcast series), including promos and features in multiple lengths.
· Ensures all audio products meet NSF branding and Section 508 accessibility requirements (e.g., transcripts).
· Coordinates review and clearance processes and maintains organized archives of audio assets.
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field; or
· Equivalent professional experience.
Experience / Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of professional audio production experience.
· Demonstrated experience producing podcasts, interviews, and audio features.
· Proficiency with professional audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or equivalent).
· Experience researching and interviewing subject-matter experts.
· Experience producing science-focused or public-sector audio content preferred.
