One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Plant Operator to join their team in Simonette, AB on a 12-month contract with a high possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. This role offers a 14-14 rotation (days and nights) with camp accommodations provided .

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor gas processing equipment, including sour gas facilities, amine units, and sweetening systems , ensuring safe and efficient production.
• Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of plant equipment to minimize downtime.
• Monitor and adjust process variables (pressure, temperature, flow rates) to maintain optimal operating conditions.
• Perform H2S monitoring and mitigation in compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist with start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures as required.
• Complete accurate logs, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
• Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to coordinate repairs and improvements.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational policies , including PPE and emergency response protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certification (ABSA certification required).
• Extensive experience in sour gas operations , including exposure to H2S, amine treating, and gas sweetening processes .
• Strong understanding of gas plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
• Previous experience in a 14-14 rotational shift (days/nights) is an asset.
• Safety certifications (H2S Alive, First Aid, CSO, etc.) are preferred.
